IDEA1 Is The Talk Of The Town

Brick by brick, IDEA1 is taking shape, and people are talking.

The San Diego Tribune, a local publication that highlights local news, events, and all things San Diego, recently published a piece stirring up excitement around IDEA1 and a vision that is soon to break ground both literally and metaphorically.

“IDEA1, a six-story, residential-office-retail project nearing completion in East Village, may represent the ultimate in mixed-use development that San Diego planners have been pining for over the past 40 years.”

The story focused on IDEA1’s four defining pillars: innovation, design, education and the arts. The mission to welcome innovative businesses, ideas, and residents were at the forefront of the piece, with commentary on the positive impact of an authentic mixed-used residence in San Diego.

“Designed by the Miller Hull architectural firm, IDEA1 is nothing like the typical warehouse converted to office or retail use. Its center opens to the sky, and The Hub can be accessed from all four streets surrounding the building.”

The Tribune eloquently described the appeal and innovation of The Hub, a highly-anticipated meeting spot for residents and visitors that will boast modular furniture, gourmet food, and a stage for performers and speakers. Overlooking it all will be a glass enclosure called the “IDEA Box” that will act as a conference room and screen for outdoor movies thanks to “smart glass” that transforms the exterior into a 10-by-17 foot video screen.

As we near completion on our East Village apartments, we’re eager for our first residents to move in and see what all the buzz is about!
