The San Diego Museum of Art – The San Diego Museum of Art is known for housing one of the finest art collections in the world. Nestled in the center of the park, its mission is to inspire, educate, and cultivate through great works of art. Objects in the collection range in date from 5,000 B.C. to the present, and they include sculptures, metal works, and Renaissance paintings.
San Diego Mineral & Gem Society – Admission to the society’s museum is free, and its goal is to help people better understand fossils, minerals, gems, and the lapidary arts. In addition to exploring the unique collection, visitors can also enjoy interesting classes such as rock carving, sphere making, and enameling.
San Diego Air & Space Museum – This museum is an affiliate of the Smithsonian Institution, and it houses historic aircraft and spacecraft from across the globe. Established in 1968, the San Diego Air & Space Museum displays an impressive collection which includes the Apollo 9 Command Module, artifacts from Amelia Earhart, and a flying replica of the Spirit of St. Louis.
San Diego Zoo – Spanning one hundred acres, the San Diego Zoo is famous for its lush, naturalistic habitats. It is home to more than 3,700 animals and a botanical collection that showcases over 700,000 plants.
